New wage base for 2020!

Ohio Unemployment Wage Base for 2020 and 2021

The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services (ODJFS) has increased the wage base for the calculation of Ohio Unemployment Tax. Effective January 1, 2000, the first $9,000 of each employee’s wages is subject to Ohio Unemployment Tax. This is a decrease of $500 from 2019.

December of each year, the ODJFS provides established employers the opportunity to make a deposit in the form of a Voluntary Payment. This payment would provide a reduced rate. HOWEVER, the savings may not exceed the Voluntary Payment amount. Please make sure to allow our office to review these notices to determine.
